Questions and answers
What this map is, where its data comes from, how coordinates work, how to submit a place, and how your progress is kept.
What is this?
An interactive map and checklist of the state in the next open-world crime game: every known place, searchable, with a checklist that keeps what you have found. Before launch it shows the community reconstruction; from launch night it fills with what players find.
Where does the data come from?
From the gtadb.org community reconstruction, made from trailers and screenshots and shared under CC BY 4.0, plus what players submit here. Positions are approximate and unknown names stay unknown.
How do the coordinates work?
Game units, x growing east and y growing north, with the origin near the middle of the state. One unit is roughly a metre. The map keeps x, y and the zoom in its address, so a link lands on the same spot.
How do I submit a place?
Right-click or long-press the map where it is, fill in the form and copy the note it makes. From launch night, submissions with a screenshot go straight into a review queue.
How is my progress kept?
In your browser, on this device. Export it to a file to move it, import it elsewhere, or copy a share link to hand your found list to a friend. Accounts come later.
Is this official?
No. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. The game is named only to say what the map is of.
Why is a place in the wrong spot?
Everything before launch comes from trailers and screenshots, so a position can be off by a block or more. Submit a correction from the map and it gets fixed in the next build.
